Can we let the baby out of the bag??

Yes. I believe we can.

We're Gonna Have A BABY!

I'm pregnant! We're so excited and couldn't be happier. I just feel like placing exclamation points all over this blog!!!! Of course we're both a little nervous as well, but I think the anticipation and excitement trumps any of those feelings.

I'm currently 12 weeks as I post this, almost out of the awful 1st trimester. I can't wait to move on to 2nd trimester bliss. At least I hope it is for me. You hear of women who are sick the whole time-egh!

*So happy, the night we found out. (Tyler teared up even)

So how has my pregnancy been going you may ask? Great, and not so great! We've seen little peanut once on an Ultrasounds. He/She's cute if I do say so myself. We've also heard the heartbeat twice. One of the best sounds in the world! I've had most of the symptoms already and I'm sure there's more to come.

Nausea: Yes, nausea, nausea, and more nausea. Pretty much since 5 weeks I haven't been able to eat, drink, anything! Not much vomiting, but feeling sick from waking up to going to sleep. Starving is actually easier than I thought when your body resists food. I actually just got in trouble from the doctor for losing 5 pounds. Ouch! It's starting to ease up a little bit, so hopefully I'll be back to normal and gaining weight for our little peanut.

Food Cravings/Aversions: No real cravings lately. Around 8 weeks all I could eat were baked potatoes. I don't think it qualifies as a craving though-it was just all I could stomach. I have started to like pickles a little more, but nothing crazy. As for aversions-I can't STAND coffee. Which is really sad! I loved it so much, it was actually so much a part of my life. Now I can't even been in the same room as the coffee grounds. Tyler has to take it out of the room when I'm near it.

Headaches: These have been coming on strong recently. A few migraines even. Hope they don't last too long!

Fatigue: As I near the end of the 1st trimester I'm beginning to get my energy back a little more. But I have been oh so tired. I read that your body creating a baby is equal to running a triathlon.

Sciatic Nerve: Yes, this has already kicked in. Just a few times, but there none the less. That whole electric shock thing-not fun.

Cramping: So much cramping. Nothing to worry about, just ligament pain. Still makes you a little nervous and is annoying.

Emotions: I'm an emotional person. I wear them on my sleeves. Funny quick story, I was reading one of my pregnancy books out loud when I read over the emotions part. I look at Tyler and say, I don't think I've been too emotional. His response was a laugh. I have broken out crying for no reason a few times, and have been a little snippier at home and at work. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it under control, and if all else fails-I'll blame little Peanut.

Prego Brain: Wow, this was a little unexpected but I have a severe case of Prego Brain. I never knew I could be so ditsy and forgetful and I have a feeling it will only get worse. I think I'll have to get me a baby gate for the basement stairs. I almost stepped into the stairwell thinking it was the bathroom. Also, I have forgotten my bank password, and trying oh so hard to remember it!

It seems like I've been getting every other symptom as well. This first few months have been pretty hard, but again I'm looking forward to the next few months. I'm looking forward to enjoying food and a nice cold glass of water again. However most of all I'm looking forward to seeing this little bag of joy in 6 months.

  8. K so I just left you a message on facebook but I have to tell you again how excited I am for you two!!! You and Tyler are going to be the most incredible parents--that's one lucky little baby in there :-) I'm so happy things are going so well for you (well, minus the nausea and all that fun stuff--I hope it gets better soon!).

We seriously need to catch up. I was planning on making it to Nick & Natalie's baby shower in Feb. but ended up with the flu when we visited that weekend. But I'm coming out for a good ten-ish days in April and will have plenty of time for friends, for once. So... lunch? I'll call you :-)

  9. Can I say it again?? I am SOO excited! Haha, I feel for you in the prego brain area! It does get worst, and then it takes you a while after you have your baby to regain it all back! You guys are amazing, and I know that both you and Tyler are going to be AWESOME parents! God is going to bless you so much with this little one, and your going to gain a completely different understanding of God by having little peanut!
