Catch Up II

Our friends Steve and Silvana Edwards from Australia came to visit. I met them in 04 on a trip out there for work. I was so blessed to find Christians that took such good care of me. I am so grateful for our friendship. We had a great time at Tepanyaki and on a hunt for coffee (Sunday night-even in SLC was tough after 9 p.m.) We ended up at Denny's in Provo-sad huh. Next time, I'll do better :)

Work Fun...and not so fun

Back in January, my office moved-AGAIN! I thought Ashley would enjoy pictures of our sad desks during the 1-2 weeks we didn't have cubicles.

Playing Catchup

Wow! We have ALOT of photos. Our computer has been slowing down lately and I realized we had about 7,000 photos (plus 8,000 photos in the trash folder). So Tyler assigned me cleanup duty so we could load our 1,000+ photos of Greece without severely effecting the memory of our computer. So here is a quick catch up of photos over the past year that I never blogged about.

As some of you know, I plan on printing my blog in a Blog Book-this will makeup for my lacking interest in scrapbooking. So even though the following photos may not be the most interesting for my readers, you now know the other purpose these posts have-Scrapbooks!

This is my cousin Carly(in the pink) and her husband Bill with their little boy and a friend (?). I hardly ever see them but we miss and love them tons!

Hair Fiasco

Wow, it's been a while-but due to popular demand (3 people), I am adding a new post. Yay!

So-ready for a funny story? Yes, it's at my expense, but I was even laughing, so I'll share it with you.

Monday evening I got my hair cut and styled by the wonderful Jayme Giordano (702-487-0616). She gave my hair so much volume I loved it! She also told me how to do it myself (and if you know my sister and I-were not the best at doing our hair).

So the next morning, I wash it, dry it, and start to style it. I used velcro rollers from Avon (Bama), and I also used 2 round brushes. I left them in as I made breakfast and do my makeup. I start unrolling the rollers and it's looking great. I go to unroll one of the round brushes and it's a little tight. I decide to work on that one last so I continue with the rest of the rollers. I move back to the round brush...and it's stuck. Not like a little stuck, but REALLY REALLY 100% STUCK! It won't budge, it won't unroll, it will hardly lift. I try not to panic as thoughts of scissors and really short hair and pictures of Greece with me looking like this goes through my mind.

So I'm trying to work it out, look at the clock and I'm supposed to be out the door. So I think-well those little pink things on the end of the bristle is maybe stopping it from un rolling. Also, I will NEVER use this brush again, so why not cut those off. I grab the closest pair of scissors and start to try to cut off the bristles. It's really hard to get the scissors close enough as I'm trying to cut, then I hear something I DIDN'T want to hear. I cut a big chunk of hair! I didn't see anything-but I heard it. Yikes. I set the scissors down and opted for large nail clippers. I start snipping of the ends very successfully-yet the roller STILL doesn't budge.

I am then already 10 minutes late and have to make a decision. I don't have time to stop at a hair salon to get help (plus I was a little afraid at what they would do). There is NO ONE around to help. I have to be in Sandy for an appointment-so I go. I drive to SLC and go see Kara WITH this roller brush in my hair! As I walk in, I apologize for being late and tell her I had a hair problem as she looks at my head and I can't describe the emotions-first shock, then laughter, lol. I say as long as she can take me seriously for the next hour, we can continue with the appointment. I have to say, I am impressed, she didn't look at my head once and laugh during the appointment-at least until the end.

After, I call up my hair stylist and BFF, WAKE her up, and ask if I can please come over and get assistance. Luckily she can help. I drive clear over to Herriman. First she grabs a bottle of OIL (hair oil, but still! I have to go to work after-and I can't go looking like a greaser from the Outsiders). Luckily due to her magic fingers, she works it out in about 10 minutes. As it's coming undone-remember the chunk of hair I cut-yep, it drops to the floor, long and thick). Luckily it must be in the underlayer, because I can't tell where it came from. All worked out in the end :) I was just happy I didn't have to go to work with a hair brush stuck in my head-who would take me seriously!

And today, I started all over again-but with no problems. I chucked the roller brush. Now my hair is volumeous and gorgeous.
