2016 Christmas Update

How fast time flies!! I can't believe another year has passed it, and quite frankly, I'm happy to see it go. This year feels like it's been a tough one! I am so grateful for the blessings we've had, and even when it's tough to remember them, I know we had a multitude of blessings.

Our biggest blessings, of course, are these two rambunctious, sweet, crazy, little boys.

I also don't give this man enough credit, he's my rock, my love, I can't imagine doing this life without him.

And who's not grateful for a good head swap? Especially with littles.

Tyler
Tyler continues to work at General Atomics making drone parts. He really likes his job and the people he works with. He's kept himself super busy this year putting in a new front proch and sidewalk, a new yard-like whoa new, building a new shed and starting a fence. He's excited for winter to start working inside the house and get his garage organized. He's such a good dad! Elijah and Isaiah love daddy play time. They love how creative he is and how much fun they have with him. Tyler said today how much he loves his life, which I love.

Lacey
I've had a tough year! I was really sick in April and have continued to be sick on and off all year with random stuff. It's hard being a mom and being sick. I haven't gotten done my millions of to-do items, but I suppose they'll wait. I've been doing quite a bit of doula work this year with my new business Doulas of Utah Valley. It's kept me busy as well as my normal full-time job with Vivint. I really have liked it and I especially like being a business owner. I will be taking a break from it for a little while (maybe a long while), which Elijah is SOOO excited about. He tells people that "Mom is quitting doula because she loves me so much and wants to spend time with me". Breaks my heart and makes me soar at the same time. I have started reading again as well, it's been so nice to take time and do something I love! I was also super excited for the new Gilmore Girls.

Elijah

Our little peanut is already 5 years old. How is this possible!?!? He's in his second year of preschool, and he's beginning to sound out words and read. He still loves his 'cars with eyes' but he's really finding a love of legos. It's all he's been doing since his birthday. He's such a smart little guy and we love how inquisitive he is. He says things like he "has good eyes because he eats carrots" and "boys are smart mom". He really REALLY doesn't want to grow up and he really doesn't want mom and dad to get old so he wants us to eat healthy and exercise. He's so sweet yet so spunky.

Isaiah
Wow has Isaiah's personality blossomed. He's been such a quiet little guy, but this year he's awoken. He's hilarious and LOVES to laugh. He's also super cuddly, sweet, and whiny, haha. He loves playing with his brother, especially if it involves the words poop, toots, stinky, or the like. He potty trained this year and did such a great job. Made for a very happy mommy. He loves TV, like way too much, ha! He also loves playing-he does such a great playing voice, it's really deep and nothing gets Tyler and I giggling like listening to Isaiah play.

Even though I may be happy for a new year, I can't wait for the holidays. Now if only I could keep my house clean! God has continued to be steady and true to us this year. As my boys learn to rely more on him, Tyler and I continue to as well.

We wish you all a beautiful and full Christmas and 2017! God Bless.

I'm No Good At Being Sick

Hello long forgotten blog. It's funny actually, when I finally put my blog book in the budget, I stop blogging. Goodness, what will it be like if we have more kids. I can't imagine finding the time do blog as well. Digital photos I'm pretty sure were a bad thing invented. It causes a lot more work!

Anywho, what's brought me here is pretty much being so bored because I'm so sick. I got sick 2.5 weeks ago with chest pains from what I believe to be a panic attack that led to 2 ER visits, and some horrible abdominal pains that felt like I was in labor again. A few EKGs, CTs of my chest and abdomen, and a US of my organs led to nothing (basically). They did find some infection from my urinary system and gut, so I had some horrible antibiotics to treat both of those.

As I was finishing the antibiotics, I catch Isaiah's cold which immediately turns into a horrible painful sinus infection. Seriously.

All this and I've come to a conclusion. I'm just no good at being sick. It seems when other people get sick, they can still function, walk, eat, talk. When I get sick, I just have to lay there. It's horribly boring, and depressing. It's almost been 3 weeks or basically bed rest. I feel horrible for Tyler, he's taken on so much by caring for the boys 100% of the time. I'm so blessed by the family and friends we've had surrounding us though. Taking care of our boys when they can, bringing many meals, and more. It's just another testament to how God really is caring for us.

That's something that's very hard for me to see in times like this. How God is answering prayers and caring for me even when it feels I'll never be well again. I'll admit any kind of sickness has me on the edge of despair. I'm full of anxiety and dread as I truly believe I'm dying. It's silly, but it's real. I feel like God's trying to speak to me during this sickness and I'm still trying to understand what he's trying to say. I do know that He's telling me He loves me even though I'm going through this. It's something I always struggle with, trusting God. It's frustrating because I KNOW there is a part of me that trusts him with everything and that trusts him so much. But then there's this very real part of me that has such a hard time trusting him. I have a hard time differentiating between that.

I will continue to build my relationship with my God though, because how can you truly trust someone that you don't have a close relationship with? I'm trying to focus on positive things in my life while trying to bring my worrying thoughts down to reality's level. Prayers appreciated!

2015 Christmas Update

I'm a little ashamed to have you come to my blog. It's so incomplete!!! I think the last small update I did was in May. I guess I'll be catching up this winter!

If you can believe it, this is the best family picture we've had all year. Complete with one-flipflop Isaiah.

It has been one busy year, full of change and a multitude of blessings. In May we decided to put our first home up for sell and purchase my mother's home in Edgemont. We sold it on the second day that it was on the market!! Way faster than expected, however Tyler did such a good job making that house a home I shouldn't be surprised. We had great buyers and received asking price! We packed up and moved into our new home on July 10th. Well newish home; it was the home I grew up in!

After all the moving craziness, my side of the family all took a vacation to California. It was great and the kids first time to Disneyland. Now we're just getting ready for the holidays and planning our our next home renovations.

Tyler
Tyler is doing great at work and still really liking General Atomics. He's still working with composite manufacturing and likes the friends he works with. He loves to go to the rec center to rock climb and sit in the hot tub. He injured his back this summer wake-boarding with some friends, so he's been concentrating on healing this fall. It doesn't slow him down much though!

Lacey
I finally made the jump this spring and decided to become a Birth Doula. I've been wanting to since Elijah was born. I took the training and I've been to 10 births so far. I love what I do! My day job is still the same, I'm an assistant at Vivint. I've been so blessed with a great boss and job and I get to work from home 3 days a week. I have to admit though, as much as I love being home with the boys, the days I go to the office can be really nice! It's a great balance.

Elijah
Baby Peanut turned 4 this year. 4!!! He also started preschool. . He goes 1 day a week to Lil' Smarty Pants Preschool and he loves it.  He's such an energetic character. Always surprising us with stuff he says or 'ideas' he comes up with. Usually it involves sliding down something or jumping off something. He LOVED Cars Land in Disneyland. Cars are still pretty much the only thing he plays with. He's starting to really love space and I asked if he wanted to be an astronaut. His response? "No I'm going to be a car driver". Proud daddy moment right there. He can't wait for Christmas. Like seriously, can't wait. {He wanted me to add in that he likes candy}.

Isaiah
Baby Jimmy(haha) is still the sweetest boy you'll ever meet. He's even cuddling me right now. He turned 2 this November and seriously, I love this age! He's growing into his funny silly personality. He loves his older brother and gets sad when Elijah goes to preschool. He loves bugs, cars, animals and playing with 'his people' (little people). He has the cutest voice and speaks so well.

I can't wait to catch up the blog so you all can see what we've been up to this year. I also can't wait to see what next year brings!!

We love all our family and friends. We're so blessed to have you a part of our and our children's lives. We wish you the best Christmas and pray that Christ remains the center of all of your holiday traditions.

Blessings,

Fall 2015

We love fall around here! Elijah loves warm and cuddly clothes and pumpkin season.

There's just something so cute about seeing these two together.

We love lazy weekend mornings. Dad makes pancakes and coffee almost every weekend.

Elijah asked me to take a photo of his silly face....

We love the beach around here. Any beach will do! This was Deer Creek.

Movie night with Emmett! James was hanging out with Tyler.

The Grotto. Such a fun hike with the cousins.

Our last Sunday with the Flowers. Elijah is going to miss Meredith and Emmett.

Copying his brother's face.

Elijah's preschool class took a field trip to the pumpkin patch. Isaiah tagged along.

This is Alice. Elijah's first crush.

 Don't get stuck little buddy.

Gelato for filling the obedience jar.

Summer 2015 Pt. 1

I'm going to pretend it hasn't been 6 months since my last posting. I'll probably even have to back post a LOT of these photos :). Enjoy.

Brenda and Andrew Veve came back to Utah for a visit. We were so excited to see our long lost family, and we about gave my mom a heart attack when we had Brenda open our door when my mom knocked!

S'mores Night!
