Carmel Apples, Pumkin Fairies, and the Dakota O'latern

So tonight was pretty fun. We love Oreo caramel apples and pumpkin seeds! The night started making these great treats!



Then the cutest little pumpkin fairy stopped by, escorted by a cop. They were so cute!


By that time, the Dakota O'latern was already in progress. Then Dakota and my Mom stopped by. The pumpkin was a surprise, so we turned off the lights to show them the pumpkin. Dakota was so surprised. It took him like 5 seconds-really fast- and he yelled out "That's Me". It was great!


We got to hang out with them for a little bit and had a lot of fun.




Of course we had to dress Puppy up. He was a Spider again this year...I think next year he'll be a bat! We didn't torture him too long with the costume, but he had to wear it at least a little bit ;)


Next Corinne came over and hung out while Tyler perfected the Dakota O'latern. We ate caramel apples, pumpkins seeds, and sipped our coffee. It was fun. And the highlight of the night? The Dakota O'latern of course. Look how awesome it turned out!


And to think, this was Tyler's first time carving a pumpkin...I think he has a future in the art for sure.

Picking Pumpkins

I love pumpkins. I know, it's an odd passion. I just- I love them. In high school I had my very own pumpkin patch. I loved planting them, watching them grow, picking them, and pretty much loving them like little children. For the past few years I haven't grown pumpkins and miss it dearly.

This year we were able to visit a pumpkin patch! I loved it. First I took a while to pick out the perfect round pumpkin.
Then it was Ty's turn. He was more spontaneous than I was. He walked around, looked at a few, and then picked one. I was a little nervous that it really wasn't the one he wanted and he should make sure. However, he was sure he was sure, lol. So we went with it.

Like Father, like Puppy

So there is an odd thing that Tyler and I both do-and we've done it since we were little. I would always sit over the heater vent to warm myself up. Tyler would always sit against it in the mornings growing up. We were getting ready for bed one night and saw puppy laying up against the heater vent. You can tell he was loving the warm air! It was really cute.

Dakota's Baptism

Dakota was baptized this past Sunday at Christ Evangelical Church. Pastor Jim Powell, the youth pastor did the baptism. Dakota was excited...and really really nervous. He hates being in front of people, and since the whole church came out to watch, I think it intimidated him a little.

In our belief you get baptized as a symbolic and obedience thing. Once you accept Jesus as your savior, you start trying to be more obedient to him. Baptism is one of those things along with a bunch of other commandments. It isn't necessary to go to heaven though. It is also symbolic of your old self dying and you new self being born.

Everything went really well. He was really excited after and stayed until hardly anyone was left. He is really enjoying being a part of the youth group lately-which I am really happy about. Youth group was such a big part of my growing up. God really can change you when you let him and your teenage years are the best years for it.

Lacey and Abby

So I know this picture isn't the great of me...oh well. I still enjoyed breakfast with Abby. We definitely need to do this again.

Fall

In the spirit of fall, I decided to try out my domestic skills and make a table center piece. I was really proud.

2nd Wedding Anniversary

Tyler and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary today. Going on three! Time flies too fast. We have been together now (including dating, engagement and marriage) for 6 years now! Crazy huh.

We went out to dinner at Lugano in Salt Lake City. We were a couple of lame-os and forgot to take pictures. So instead I took a pic of the beautiful daisies he gave me.

Instead of doing gifts we decided that our upcoming trip to Costa Rica for my job will be sort of a gift to the both of us.---and no, the flowers don't count as a gift, hehe.

Evil Van

So Tyler had a van...it was a nice van...then he tranformed it (Jekyl and Hyde style).
