Japan...here I come
I'm leaving for Japan tomorrow. I have a work thing-our annual summit. Although I'm not thrilled, I'm going to make the best of the trip. I'm facing the anxious feeling I have, and doing really well!
So in an effort to keep you all updated, especially my darling Tyler, I'm going to post twitter updates below. Check back if your interested in what's going on ...on that side of the world.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord...
..."plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future" ~ Jeremiah 29:11
This verse means so much to me lately. It has taken on such different forms of application as well. God has blessed Tyler and I so abundantly. We are so amazed at his faithfulness and love.
For the past year, I have been working hard studying and taking classes to pass my CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) exam with MPI (Meeting Professional International). It was a grueling process. I was reading every night, all day on weekends, I was so happy when it was over. After the test I actually got in my car and cried!
Well I'm happy to say...I passed! We thank God for the wisdom, courage, and patience it took to pass, and for an amazing husband who dealt with me, did all the housework and cooking during that hard time.

Since I passed my CMP, I was also blessed with an awesome promotion to Event Manager..again God is so amazing. I've been working towards position at work for 2 years, and they finally promoted me! I'm so excited about this change and the opportunity they've given me.
You think that's awesome? Well let's move on to Tyler. He has been thinking more about what God has in store for his career as well. He started career counseling early this fall and decided that he wanted to move into a career manufacturing composites. He found a college in Kaysville actually offered a certification course in exactly what he wanted to do! It was about an hour drive one way, not a plus, but still awesome. So he signed up. That's definitely a God thing. That's not all, right before we were about to pay tuition, we got a flyer that announced a class was starting right here in the valley. Now that's an even better God thing.
Again, that's not everything. It is a new program, so since he was one of the first to sign up...he got a FULL scholarship. Again, I can't tell you how incredible God has blessed us.
Next...yes there's more. Most of you know our obsession with Dave Ramsey. My last post about Dave Ramsey announced that we become Debt Free! Since then, this past year and a half we have kept the pocketbook tight and finally finished Baby Step 3- our 6 Month Emergency Fund. This is saving up 6 months of expenses for when Murphy shows up.
Click here for another video that will give you some tips to help build your emergency fund. I apologize for the guy...for some reason he strips down to his underwear. I think to show that he needs the money???
So going back to the verse above: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future" ~ Jeremiah 29:11. Along with all the amazing blessing we've received, Tyler's also been laid off. God says that he has plans to prosper us and not to harm us. So this could be a good thing right?
Tyler is surprisingly happy. He's ready to find something new, something that is in the field he is going to study in. Sometimes God has to close one door so he can open another one. Getting laid off usually isn't in most peoples 'blessing' column, but we really see it as that...most of the time ;). Only Tyler could have an excellent attitude about getting laid off, he definitely is better at being positive than I am. Those of you that know Tyler, know this to be true.
So, let's say there are two columns. That makes about 4 AMAZING things listed above, then one not-so-good thing. We're still 3 ahead. Looking at the types of blessings above, my promotion, 6 months saved up...it makes Tyler's lay off not so scary.
One thing is true: God is awesome. We'll hold on to that.

“Women and Cats will do as they please. Men and dogs had better get used to it.”
~Robert Heinlein
I was searching for a romantic quote for our 3rd year anniversary. However, I came across the quote above, and couldn't help but laugh.
On October 14th, Tyler and I celebrated our 3 years of marriage. I can't believe how fast it flew by! We celebrated by going out to sushi and then...you guessed it-the Dollar Theatre, hehe. It was a great night.

The following weekend, we took a short weekend up in Park City. It was so relaxing!

These past 3 years have been so full of blessings for us. God is amazing and I thank him so much for bringing me such an amazing man to be my husband. Love you darling.
