Christmas Cards

  I wanted to try something new this year and scan in all the Christmas cards we received. I never know what to do with them after the holidays. Throwing them away seems sad, storing them seems needless. So I figured I would scan them and add them to my blog to forever remember our Christmas Greetings!

Christmas 2011

So I'm way behind on my blogging. I guess being a mom does that to you though, right? I wanted to get 2011 wrapped up before February hit, but it snuck up on me. So with my limited time, while Elijah is content in his crib watching his mobile-I'll brief you all on how our first Christmas with a baby went.

Humbling.

Christmas wasn't too much different this year just because Elijah was here-he was only about 2.5 months old. What was awesome was not only being thankful for God sending Jesus to us for our own salvation, but it was amazing realizing that it was for our little Elijah as well. Imagining giving up my own son, with such a burden on his little shoulders-to save the world. It's heartbreaking. To know that it was all done for me, Tyler, Eljiah, and EVERYONE else. Is humbling. Relating to Mary in a motherly way-she was so strong and faithful. Again, it was so humbling.

The festivities were about the same. Before Christmas, we hosted the Gillman Party. We went to our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, watch Santa Clause 2 this year (instead of The Nativity-not my choice). Then we went to visit family the next day. It was so much fun showing off our little guy to everyone he hadn't met yet.

We didn't feel the need to get Eljiah too much this year, so we went for thoughtful. We like to pretend he was still excited.
